I decided that it would be fun to make a few stockings. I originally wanted to because I hate traditional Christmas red and green. I was planning on going dark yellow and gray/silver. It seemed much more cute for the holidays. However, I decided to go red and white and skip the green to have a happy medium. Had I known how easy they are to whip up I would have made some long ago.
I love the normal round toe and the elf-like curled up toe. I've made a few of both. I have a decent assortment of styles but I took a quick pic of a couple of my first. I'm excited about it.

Sick days and Nutcracker
I'm not neglecting the blog I swear. Had the flu on and off for 2 weeks. No joke. It's been so miserable. Today I actually ran a couple errands so I feel like a superhero. Still pretty sick and exhausted though. But I've still been doing some cute stuff on good days. So.... I thought I'd share with you my favorite ballerina.
Disclaimer: this is the best quality I could get backstage at the nutcracker with zero natural light.

Sisters
I know I haven't posted any crafts in a little bit. I have been working on projects. But also been busy with other stuff I want to share specifically this...
This is a picture of me and my two younger sisters on Thanksgiving. I really can't get over it. I'll prob frame it and put it on my wall I love it so much. I only wish I had my final and older sister in it. I'm very hopeful to get one when she comes to visit in a couple weeks. This picture says so much to me. Just how different/similar we are. I can see similar features but I feel this shot captures a little bit of our different personalities. Although I'm not super close to my family at all this just serves as a good reminder that I am really grateful for my family.

Mukluks!!!
One of my new loves as of late: MUKLUKS! They're even fun to say. Add in that they're super cute and I know you're asking Santa for some too! I'm trying to pick the perfect ones but lets be honest I suck at favorites. What do you think the chances are of getting 3??? And closet space is a whole other issue. (sad)
These cuties are from csn stores for only $30. Not what I originally wanted in a mukluk but they're soooooo cute!Gotta love the navy stripes in these Ugg's at Nordstrom. Sadly way out of my price range. Oh well I already own too many navy striped items.
Love that these ones are a wedge. And only $24 at Walmart. I love good Walmart finds. I'm a bit iffy on cream. I see them getting really dirty and gross. I love the suede on them though. and I'd probably just cut off the pompoms. Way cute though right??
What can I say? Red! Stripes! $14 at old navy!! I might have to go pick these up for myself tomorrow! One downside they're technically slippers however in the customer reviews someone said they work fine wearing them outside. I am so in love! You're thinking are those boots belonging to where's waldo? That's just an added bonus in my book. Too cute!!
I love the gray marbled ones. $35.49 at overstock.com Sounds perfect. I went into this search hoping for gray and I love these ones. I love marbled yarn. So what do you think? Probably that I'm selfish? Or a shopaholic? I might be a bit selfish at times and definitely a shopaholic. But at least I do my homework for my Christmas wish list right? (I just thought about it, I've looked at literally over 3,000 boots. No lie) I like to think that shows commitment to good deals. I like to be as frugal as I can but still love to dress very trendy. Just a skill I have.

Brown Beanie
Today I whipped out this beanie. Another one with a brim of course. Love them! I didn't put the strap and buttons on this one though. Can't decide if I should add that?? And I have to put a disclaimer on these pics. I wanted to get pics of this posted but I was starting to get into pajamas and get all grungy for the night. My hair is covering a tank I promise! And I promise I didn't look this nuts today.
But aside from looking totally goofy and have a creepy face in the first pic... Do you like the hat? It's a great color. Fell in love with the yarn at walmart the other day so only a couple bucks spent on this. (I might have even finished it up during church looking like a grandma crocheting :)) Also, do you not love this unruly red hair? I have officially fallen in love. Why couldn't I have been born with such nice red hair? I secretly hope that somehow all my daughters will inherit red hair. With Thanksgiving coming up I have to say I'm grateful for hair dye! :)

Shirt Re-do
Don't mind my awkward face. This pic was the best shot of the shirt in my poorly lit student apartment. Anyways I made this!!!
Just made rosettes like you would for hair flowers and added them to this shirt. I never wear this shirt but it's been in the closet and I couldn't get rid of it (surprisingly, I'm happy to throw anything out) so now new shirt! and 100% free!! the rosettes were just scrap material I had around. I even made an extra matching hair flower. Just try to get over the goofy picture if you can :)

RED
So I am LOVING the color red lately. I'm not a favorite color kinda girl but I just have been really appreciating the color red as of late. Hence the red galoshes, hooodie, and even recent hair color :) So yesterday I went scoping out some new places to take pics. And I found many! So I made Mike come along to take the pics as I never have any interested models?? But after much editing this is what I came up with...
Ignore my weird face in the above shot. I make many odd expressions.
This is a candid shot that I just liked. I was trying to maneuver through the shallow spots of water. I was mostly successful :) Only one boot ended up filling with water.
Another cool candid shot. I'm trying to gauge how deep the water is that direction.
Overall I vote it was a success. Enjoyed nature a bit. Ended up hiking about 4 miles. And only completely embarrassed myself twice. (boot filling with water, and a snake/stick attack)

Side Table
Ok so I did this project a while ago. I just realized I hadn't posted pics. I found this old crappy side table at DI with rotting wood and everything. I ended up having to tear it apart and get rid of water damaged wood and reassembling it.
And this is the finished product. (don't mind the crappy quality pic)
I did a light gray paint that was watered down so it'd show the wood through the paint still. Switched up the hardware and add a few pieces and its super cute. I really love it!!!

beanie with a brim
I love beanies with a brim as of late. We've been selling a bunch at work and I of course don't love the idea of spending over 20 on them. So I decided today to make my own.
Completely free!!! I had the yarn and buttons in my crafting supplies. And it surprisingly looks good with my red hair. This is going to make me want to make 5 more. Can anyone say Christmas Gifts???

Adventures in Photography
So I've done my share of dabbling in photography and such. Mostly for craft projects and stuff but I've been wanting to play around with it a little more. So I decided to head out for a photo shoot today. Of course when I brought my friend mike with me it ended up being more of me being the model so I have to accredit these to him. (although it's all my artistic vision ha) Pretty much you take pics of me posing. He did pretty good and with a good deal of editing I was quite proud of what I got. Also makes me feel a bit vain having so many pictures of myself for no special reason. I laughed and said these were my "senior pictures" for hopefully my last year in school.
Ya crawling around under this bridge in a skirt was fun. We had a lot of funny pictures of me climbing around on the rocks. But I love sitting under this bridge to keep cool in the summer. It's a good view too.
I just thought this was a funny face I was making. Turns out I hate modeling because I hate trying to think of other faces to make plus I just feel stupid because I know someone is watching.
LOVE this one. A very fun shot.
Not my favorite one. But this bridge just asked me to get it's picture taken and I couldn't say no.
Ya I'm totally cheesin in this one but I loved playing on this log.
Ya as you can see I'm out of faces and just feeling awkward in the last two. Looking good only happens in spurts for me I guess.
I was playing. Dumb idea in a skirt but what can I say??
This is one of my pretty shots. I wanna be like wait... I look pretty?!
Again enjoying the bridge. It was tough to get a shot without a bunch of people on it. Everyone was out today on a nice Sunday afternoon. But that's most of what I thought was worth sharing. Let me know what you think. And for future reference I'm looking for models. Anyone wanna play???
